Life Maths, Science, Health & History – Where are they not?

Today, we began looking at “numbers” out of curiosity born out of current world events. Now, I’m aware this doesn’t fall under certain “pedagogies” for what a particular age is “supposed” to be learning… but as you may or may not know: we literally do what we want.

If it feels right, we go with it. And so, with our family philosophy around home / unschooling (natural life learning) we’ve just asked whatever questions we wanted, to go as deep into a subject as we wish. In this way, you’ll notice you literally cannot help but learn mathematical concepts, certain science principles, historical events and all of their relevancies to our health as human beings.

So, with the media driven mania we’ve become aware of through others (NOT by consuming the news itself)… we’ve asked a few simple questions… that few obviously do. Firstly, what is the population of India relative to the Covid data (freely available mind you). Then we got into some percentages around that population and our own (in Australia). We learned that India has 40 times the people than Australia! Pretty cool little trivial fact. Notice the 40 to 1 dots to represent this data in the map 😉

We found it even more amazing given India is about HALF the size! Then we got to talking living conditions which included terms such as third world, slums and developing nations. Then we got to crunching recovery numbers and found over 93% recovery rate for Covid for a THIRD WORLD country with NO “actual” possibility for “social distancing”.

We talked public health and sharing water wells and how rapid disease can spread in such circumstances and then we got to the concept of Natural Immunity after recovery and how it “can relate to Herd Immunity” and how that is something Product Manufacturers are attempting to sell people on… but in reality cannot. It literally only happens in nature.

This came up because of the rapid and dramatic “unprecedented” drop in “cases” as presented in the data (so we got a great little taste of data analysis)… that India had PRE Vaccination! THEN we got into a talk about the HUGE spike, as shown on the publicly available graph of Covid cases, directly following and correlating with the administration of the vaccines. This is purely a fun little demonstration of “how information can be represented” (fascinating topic, especially with media) in graph form. We’ve also been learning all about the Homeopaths of history and significant people in history who used it. This learning has been incidental along side playing our new Homeopathy Heroes game. We have been loving this game so much!

SO many questions come up whenever we learn something new and to be honest, I’m finding it truly empowering! We have a whole section of our pantry dedicated to First Aid and Medicines, and it’s been absolutely awesome treating all the little things that come up using our Child & Adult Homeopathy First Aid kits!

We’ve treated bumps and bruises, sneezes and tunny aches, travel sickness and sniffles and because of this, I have every intention of beginning my own Family Homeopathy Journal… because honestly it’s just awesome how this stuff works. It’s a can of worms when you follow what you love! And to do this as a family is just so much fun! I wouldn’t change it for the world!
